Gathering of VTIS - Association of Slovenes Educated Abroad in London
On 10th of October 2018 the Association of Slovenes Educated Abroad VTIS organized their second gathering in London this year titled 'From Opportunities to Networks to Careers'.
The event, organized in association with the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in London, was taking place in Europe House and started with the video welcoming speech by a Member of the Management Board of the Association VTIS Ms Kristi Hodak followed by the address speech of Ambassador Tadej Rupel. In his speech Ambassador Rupel emphasised the importance of the event as an opportunity of experience and opinion sharing platform, networking and building connections among Slovenes living and working in British educational and research institutions and businesses.
The event was also attended by Director of the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) Prof. Dr. József Györkös who expressed the Agency's openness for exploring further cooperation. As part of the introductory speeches, the attendees were also welcomed to the event through videoconference by the CEO of British-Slovene Chamber of Commerce Ms Barbara Uranjek.
As part of four short presentation that followed, Ms Lea Bernetič (the owner of creative and communication company Eliei and visiting lecturer at University of the Creative Arts), Ms Lea Marolt Sonnenschein (MA student of Innovation Design Engineering at Royal College of Art in Imperial College), Ms Manca Urankar (Psychology Graduate and Associate at PwC), and Mr Rok Strniša (Ph.D. in Computer Science and Principal Engineer at Improbable) presented their career paths to success.
The formal part of the event was followed by a networking reception.
